Attaching countertops other than corners

After you’ve scribed and trimmed all the straight countertop pieces, you can finally begin the job of securing them to the base cabinets.

Don’t start securing the countertop to the cabinets until the mitered joint has dried. Allow a few hours for the glue to dry or overnight if the weather is humid. It’s better to wait a little longer than rush the job and have the seam break because the glue hadn’t set up. If the seam does break, you need to go back, remove the old glue, and redo the process.
